Tandem Repeats

2013
Tandem repeats constitute a consistent fraction of eukaryotic genomes and are given by monomers or gene clusters repeated in a head-to-tail direction. Main examples are represented by microsatellites, minisatellites, satellites, rDNA genes, and protein-coding genes.

Repeated repeat problems: Combinatorial effect of C9orf72-derived dipeptide repeat proteins

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2019
A microsatellite expansion mutation in C9orf72 is the most common genetic cause of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). The expansion mutation leads to C9orf72 loss of function, RNA foci formation, and generation of five species of non-AUG RAN translated dipeptide repeat proteins (DPRs), such as poly(GA), poly(GP ...

Repeated Moral Hazard

Econometrica, 1985
This paper considers a repeated principal agent relationship where the principal is risk neutral, the agent is risk averse, the principal can borrow or save at a fixed interest rate, and the agent discounts future consumption. It is shown that memory plays a very strong role in every Pareto-optimal contract.
