List decoding of repeated codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Assuming that we have a soft-decision list decoding algorithm of a linear code, a new hard-decision list decoding algorithm of its repeated code is proposed in this article. Although repeated codes are not used for encoding data, due to their parameters,

Algebraic Cayley Differential Space–Time Codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Cayley space-time codes have been proposed as a solution for coding over noncoherent differential multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels. Based on the Cayley transform that maps the space of Hermitian matrices to the manifold of unitary matrices,

Algebraic Quantum Synchronizable Codes

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we construct quantum synchronizable codes (QSCs) based on the sum and intersection of cyclic codes. Further, infinite families of QSCs are obtained from BCH and duadic codes. Moreover, we show that the work of Fujiwara~\cite{fujiwara1} can

p-Adic estimates of Hamming weights in Abelian codes over Galois rings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A generalization of McEliece's theorem on the p-adic valuation of Hamming weights of words in cyclic codes is proved in this paper by means of counting polynomial techniques introduced by Wilson along with a technique known as trace-averaging introduced ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Extending Construction X for Quantum Error-Correcting Codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we extend the work of Lisonek and Singh on construction X for quantum error-correcting codes to finite fields of order $p^2^ where p is prime.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

On MDS Negacyclic LCD Codes

open access: yes, 2018
Linear codes with complementary duals (LCD) have a great deal of significance amongst linear codes. Maximum distance separable (MDS) codes are also an important class of linear codes since they achieve the greatest error correcting and detecting ...
