Repeated compressive loading of a sand

Canadian Geotechnical Journal, 1979
Twelve repeated load drained triaxial tests to at least 105 cycles on a sand are reported. A threshold stress of about 50% of the static failure strength was found. Below the threshold stress, the permanent deformation and resilient modulus reached constant values. Above the threshold stress, the permanent deformation began to increase rapidly and the

Repeated load testing of a granular material

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1974
Both the resilient and permanent strains were measured and shown to reach equilibrium values after some 10 4 stress cycles under drained test conditions. The effect of changes in both the mean level and the amplitude of the deviator stress were studied and samples were tested at various constant cell pressures.

[Repeated ergometric loading].

Vnitrni lekarstvi, 1989
The action of cardioactive substances is tested by repeated ergometric loads. The aim of the present work was to assess whether after previous loads in the organism certain adaptational changes persist, cardiovascular, respiratory or metabolic, which might influence the course of a subsequent load.

The response of posteroanterior lumbar stiffness to repeated loading

Manual Therapy, 2002
Lumbar posteroanterior (PA) responses are determined by manual examination and are used to guide treatment decisions and interpret changes in symptoms within and between treatments. Mechanical devices that simulate manual assessment have been developed to measure lumbar PA responses.

Cementum Crack Formation by Repeated Loading In Vitro

Journal of Periodontology, 2007
Background: In this study, the hypothesis was adopted that fatigue destruction may develop on the cementum of the root surface because of the repeated occlusal stresses loaded on the tooth as in the case of prolonged occlusal trauma. The purpose of this study is to clarify whether cemental fatigue destruction occurs when repeated stresses are loaded on

Repeated Load Aggregate Degradation

2020
Degradation of a variety of aggregate types, commonly used as ballast by the CN and CP railroads in Canada, and a non-ballast, were evaluated in the laboratory under different gradings, applied stresses, and density conditions. The ballasts were subjected to the one-dimensional and triaxial repeated loading stress states, encompassing some of the ...

Bond under Repeated Loading

SP-180: Bond and Development of Reinforcement - A Tribute to Dr. Peter Gergely, 1998
Characteristic results of more than 100 cyclic pull-out tests are presented including various load histories (simulating realistic load spectra) like random loading or variable amplitude loading with increasing or decreasing tendencies in addition to the constant amplitude loading with different amplitudes.

Pressures on Retaining Wall with Repeated Loading

Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division, 1977
The pressures on earth retaining structures that support backfills carrying moving loads have always been estimated by using methods that assume these loads to be applied in a static condition: the effect of these loads being repeated is not considered.

Repeated and Reversed Loading in Reinforced Concrete

Journal of the Structural Division, 1966
THREE BEAMS TESTED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS, DURING 1959-61 WERE SUBJECTED TO REVERSAL IN THE DIRECTION OF LOADING AND 18 OTHERS WERE SUBJECTED TO REVERSAL OF LOADING IN ONE DIRECTION. THE BEHAVIOR OF THE THREE BEAMS SUBJECTED TO REVERSAL OF LOADING IS DISCUSSED IN DETAIL.
