The dangers, directness, and purposes of online collective actions
Abstract Most research on online collective action investigates low‐effort, social media‐based actions rather than tactics with highly disruptive potential. Midbrain PAG Astrocytes Modulate Mouse Defensive and Panic‐Like Behaviors
Astrocytes in the midbrain periaqueductal gray (PAG) dynamically encode threat intensity and shape defensive action selection in mice. Real‐time Ca2+ imaging reveals robust astrocytic activation during predator odor and CO2 exposure. Aberrant astrocytic Ca2+ overactivation disrupts goal‐directed escape, biases behavior toward freezing, and induces ...

Dopaminergic Innervation of the Nidopallium Caudolaterale in the Japanese Quail
The nidopallium caudolaterale (NCL) of the Japanese quail was delineated based on quantitative TH+ fiber density, identifying it as the primary dopaminergic target within the pallium. TH+ basket‐like structures predominantly surrounded CaMKIIa+ excitatory neurons, with sparse contacts onto GABAergic interneurons.
