MRU-Tour-based Replacement Algorithms for Last-Level Caches

2011 23rd International Symposium on Computer Architecture and High Performance Computing, 2011
Memory hierarchy design is a major concern in current microprocessors. Many research work focuses on the Last-Level Cache (LLC), which is designed to hide the long miss penalty of accessing to main memory. To reduce both capacity and conflict misses, LLCs are implemented as large memory structures with high associativities. To exploit temporal locality,

Cumulative Damage Models with Replacement Last

2011
This paper proposes a damage model with replacement last. First, the preventive replacement policies with a damage process is given: the unit is replaced at a damage level Z or a planned time T, whichever occurs last. Second, optimal Z for a given T is derived, and compare such an optimal policy with those of replacement first and standard replacement.

Subannular Perforation After Long-Lasting Aortic Valve Replacement Mimicking Mitral Insufficiency

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2008
We report a rare case of a patient diagnosed with mitral insufficiency grade III 12 years after mechanical aortic valve replacement. Transesophageal echocardiography described an eccentric mitral regurgitation-type systolic jet with color flow evidence of communication between left ventricle and atrium. Surgical intervention showed a circular defect in

“Speed of Replacement”: Modeling Brand Loyalty Using Last-Move Data

Journal of Marketing Research, 2009
The authors study brand loyalties for durable goods using automobile survey data that are peculiarly censored and track only elapsed times since transitions but not the transition times themselves. This censoring problem is typical of commercially available durable goods survey data.

WeiSub: Weighted Subset-based Cache Replacement Policy for Last Level Caches

2021 12th International Conference on Computing Communication and Networking Technologies (ICCCNT), 2021
The overall performance of a computing system is governed by the fact that how efficiently the memory system is managed. The recent boom in the data-driven memory-intensive applications made this more prominent. As the off-chip memory accesses are costly, efficient management of the last level caches is the need of the hour.

Architectural design of diamond-like carbon coatings for long-lasting joint replacements

Materials Science and Engineering: C, 2013
Surface engineering through the application of super-hard, low-friction coatings as a potential approach for increasing the durability of metal-on-metal replacements is attracting significant attention. In this study innovative design strategies are proposed for the development of diamond-like-carbon (DLC) coatings against the damage caused by wear ...

Aortic arch replacement for degenerative aneurysms: advances during the last decade

General Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2012
During the last decade, treatment paradigm for degenerative aortic arch aneurysms has been changed by a better understanding of the pathophysiology of brain complication and introduction of endovascular technologies. To avoid neurocognitive dysfunction, safe duration of deep hypothermic circulatory arrest is now considered
