ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Parameter Calibration for Simulation of Gentiana Seedling Substrate Based on Discrete Element Method
The physical and mechanical parameters of the rotten rice straw (RRS), rice husk biochar (RHB), and the mixture of the two materials (the substrate) were calibrated by Plackett-Burman and Box-Behnken experiments to obtain the parameters for simulation of

Vestibular Patient Journey: Insights From Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) Registry
ABSTRACT Objective Vestibular symptoms impose a high burden of disability. Understanding real‐world diagnostic and treatment pathways can identify care gaps and guide interventions. We aimed to characterize symptom profiles, diagnostic trends, provider involvement, and treatment patterns in vestibular disorders.

Discrete Seed Feeder Designing for Mobile Apparatus: Early Results for Pinus sylvestris L. Species
Discrete feeding of forest seeds is an urgent task for accurate detection of seeds during grading and reducing the seeding rate. The study used Pinus sylvestris L. seeds from cones collected in a natural stand of the Lisinsky educational-and-experimental

On the Shape of the Tail of a Two Dimensional Sand Pile
We study the shape of the tail of a heap of granular material. A simple theoretical argument shows that the tail adds a logarithmic correction to the slope given by the angle of repose. This expression is in good agreement with experiments.

ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

Objective We examined whether 18 months of strength training in individuals with knee varus alignment and medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) reduced knee joint loads during walking compared to an attention control group. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial that compared the effects of strength training to a ...

Tailoring the frictional properties of granular media
A method of modifying the roughness of soda-lime glass spheres is presented, with the purpose of tuning inter-particle friction. The effect of chemical etching on the surface topography and the bulk frictional properties of grains is systematically ...
