Low Degree Representations of Simple Lie Groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
We give upper bounds for the number of irreducible representations of dimension at most n for a compact semisimple Lie group. In particular, we prove that there are at most n irreducible representations of dimension at most n for a simple compact Lie group.

Integrating Unitary Representations of Infinite-Dimensional Lie Groups [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Functional Analysis 161, 1999, 478-508, 2001
We show that in the presence of suitable commutator estimates, a projective unitary representation of the Lie algebra of a connected and simply connected Lie group G exponentiates to G. Our proof does not assume G to be finite--dimensional or of Banach-Lie type and therefore encompasses the diffeomorphism groups of compact manifolds.

Faithful Representations of Lie Groups II [PDF]

open access: yesNagoya Mathematical Journal, 1950
The present paper is a continuation of Part I. In the introduction of Part I we have explained our main problems and sketched their results. In the present part we shall proceed to give complete proofs of them.

Exceptional representations of Weyl groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
We examine various consequences of the existence of exceptional representations of an irreducible Weyl group. (These are notes from a talk in the MIT Lie groups seminar.)
