A representation theory for orthomodular lattices by means of closure spaces

Acta Mathematica Hungarica, 1986
The author carries on her project of representation theory for orthomodular lattices. By central-ultrafilters-technique she finds a closure space representation theorem and analyzes the corresponding duality. As she proves then, this orthomodular lattice duality extends the Stone duality for Boolean algebras.

Representation of lattices via set-colored posets

open access: yesDiscrete Applied Mathematics, 2018
International audienceThis paper proposes a representation theory for any finite lattice via set-colored posets, in the spirit of Birkhoff for distributive lattices.

Analytical Representation of Solutions to Lattice-Hole Theory

Macromolecular Theory and Simulations, 2001
The Simha and Somcynsky (S-S) lattice-hole theory has been shown to represent accurately the pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) surface of chain molecular melts and their mixtures. Proceeding beyond its original intent, it has led to correlations with other properties and extension into the steady state and relaxing glass. The equilibrium results appear

Hamiltonian lattice gauge theories in a loop-dependent magnetic representation

Physical Review D, 1989
We formulate the U(1) and SU(2) lattice Hamiltonians in a loop-dependent magnetic basis. The formulation is gauge invariant and leads to a differential Schroedinger equation whose variables are angles associated with an independent set of closed contours in the lattice.

Congruences, equational theories and lattice representations

Periodica Mathematica Hungarica, 1996
This paper is an interesting survey, concerning the representation of lattices as lattices of congruences and as lattices of equational theories. For an algebra \(A\), \(\text{Con}(A)\) is the lattice of congruence relations, \(\text{Eq}(A)\) the lattice of equivalence relations on \(A\).

Boson representation and bound states in lattice gauge theory

Physical Review D, 1982
We study the spectrum and the scattering processes of glueball excitations of U(1) lattice gauge theory in 2+1 dimensions. To get a glueball description we rewrite the Hamiltonian successively by introducing several sets of variables, such as fermionic loop fields, canonical boson fields, and composite fields.

SU(2) LATTICE GAUGE THEORY IN THE ELECTRIC-FIELD REPRESENTATION

International Journal of Modern Physics A, 1988
Hamiltonian SU(2) lattice gauge theory is formulated in an orthonormal and complete set of gauge-invariant eigenstates of the color-electric energy (electric-field basis). For a three-dimensional cubic lattice of linear extension L, these states are labeled by 6L3 quantum numbers: one gauge angular momentum for every link and three additional angular ...

Lattice gauge theory with Higgs matter field in the adjoint representation

Physical Review D, 1984
The gauge Higgs-field system is studied both in the mean-field approximation and with a Monte Carlo simulation. We compare our results to those obtained by other authors and we comment on the relevance of these results to the problem of the finite-temperature deconfinement in pure gauge theory.
