The unpredictably eruptive dynamics of spruce budworm populations in eastern Canada

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
We examine historical population data for spruce budworm from several locations through the period 1930–1997, and use density‐dependent recruitment curves to test whether the pattern of population growth over time is more consistent with Royama's (1984; Ecological Monographs 54:429–462) linear R(t) model of harmonic oscillation at Green River New ...

Galilei invariant theories. I. Constructions of indecomposable finite-dimensional representations of the homogeneous Galilei group: directly and via contractions

open access: yes, 2006
All indecomposable finite-dimensional representations of the homogeneous Galilei group which when restricted to the rotation subgroup are decomposed to spin 0, 1/2 and 1 representations are constructed and classified.

Network topology drives population temporal variability in experimental habitat networks

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
Habitat patches connected by dispersal pathways form habitat networks. We explored how network topology affects population outcomes in laboratory experiments using a model species (Daphnia carinata). Central habitat nodes in complex lattice networks exhibited lower temporal variability in population sizes, suggesting they support more stable ...

New fusion rules and $\cR$-matrices for $SL(N)_q$ at roots of unity

open access: yes, 1992
We derive fusion rules for the composition of $q$-deformed classical representations (arising in tensor products of the fundamental representation) with semi-periodic representations of $SL(N)_q$ at roots of unity.

Geographic variation in walking activity in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum

open access: yesPopulation Ecology, EarlyView.
This study examined whether there is geographic variation in field populations, focusing on the moving activity in the red flour beetle Tribolium castaneum. Results showed significant differences in moving activity among field populations but no correlation with latitude or meteorological factors.

La condition d’étranger : une mise en discours de la conscience de soi et de la perception de l’autre

open access: yesCahiers de Civilisation Espagnole Contemporaine, 2013
The condition of the alien, who confronts the other with his identities and tests them, is linked to the status of the one who moves. After a critical presentation of several theoretical approaches, the research focuses on two different corpora ...

“Le brisement des vagues”.

open access: yesTerrains/Théories, 2020
By tapping into ethnographic data, this paper discusses the Hawaiian representations of the ocean, and of the practice of surfing, before the colonization of the archipelago by the United States. The research question focuses on the relationships between
