Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Sound And Stasis in Pictorial Poetry

open access: yesSoundEffects, 2012
In this article I investigate how various representations of sound influence temporality and imagery in pictorial poetry. Literary pictorialism can be defined as a phenomenon that occurs when the fictional reality, psychological or physical, in a text is

Multiscaling pulse representation of temporal rainfall

open access: yesWater Resources Research, 2002
We develop a pulse‐based representation of temporal rainfall with multifractal properties in the small‐scale limit. The representation combines a traditional model for the exterior process at the synoptic scale with a novel hierarchical pulse model for the event interiors.

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

A Phenomenological Critique of Ratcliffe's Existential Feeling: Affect as Temporality [PDF]

open access: yes
Matthew Ratcliffe’s model of existential feelings can be seen as a critical engagement with perspectives common to analytic, theory of mind and psychological orientations that view psychological functions such as cognition and affectivity within ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Predicting and Comparing the Subjective Health Experience of Older Cancer Survivors and Non‐Cancer Survivors: A Modeling Approach

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This study underscores the significant influence of frailty and vitality on the subjective health experience of older cancer survivors with acceptance and control emerging as salient mediators. These findings affirm the conceptual and empirical robustness of the model highlighting its potential utility in shaping future interventions for older cancer ...

Tracking Motor Progression and Device‐Aided Therapy Eligibility in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To characterise the progression of motor symptoms and identify eligibility for device‐aided therapies in Parkinson's disease, using both the 5‐2‐1 criteria and a refined clinical definition, while examining differences across genetic subgroups.

The Impact of Tilburg Frailty on Poststroke Fatigue in First‐Ever Stroke Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study With Unified Measurement Tools and Improved Statistics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Poststroke fatigue (PSF) and frailty share substantial overlap in their manifestations, yet previous research has yielded conflicting results due to the use of heterogeneous frailty assessment tools. Objective To evaluate the independent impact of frailty on PSF using a unified measurement system (Tilburg Frailty Indicator, TFI ...
