Investigating the Environmental Impact of Additive Construction: A Systematic Analysis of the Life Cycle Assessment Studies

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Additive Manufacturing (AM) has been identified as a potential catalyst for a paradigm shift within the construction industry, due to its capacity to enhance sustainability, reduce waste, and augment design flexibility. This study presents a systematic literature review (SLR) that explores the application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in ...

Compostable and Recyclable Baroplastic Triblock Copolymers Enable Low‐Energy Polymer Processing

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Baroplastic Poly(L‐lactide)‐block‐poly(ethylene glycol)‐block‐poly(L‐lactide) triblock copolymers enable ambient‐temperature processing under moderate pressure, reducing energy demand while preserving polymer integrity. The materials show rapid industrial compostability, effective chemical and physical recyclability, and compatibility with heat ...

Increasing the Reuse Potential of High‐Strength Steels by Extending the Fatigue Life through Surface Treatments

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Surface reconditioning through mechanical and electrochemical polishing is shown to extend the fatigue life of predamaged 42CrMo4 steel by over 12 times. By removing ≈100 μm of surface material, surface‐driven fatigue damage is mitigated. This study introduces a reuse potential metric to evaluate fatigue recovery and support sustainable steel reuse. Optimizing the Effectiveness of Captioned Viewing for Incidental Second Language Vocabulary Learning: The Effects of Repeated Viewing and Reading Fluency

open access: yesTESOL Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examined the effects of repeated viewing and reading fluency on incidental second language vocabulary acquisition through captioned video exposure. A total of 149 Japanese EFL learners watched a short animation with or without captions, varying in the number of repetitions (once, twice, or three times).

Capture of isoflurane from anaesthetised dogs and cats following methadone, medetomidine and ketamine administration

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Volatile anaesthetic agents contribute to climate change, and reducing this impact is a commendable ambition. We evaluated the efficiency of a veterinary capture device for isoflurane (VET‐can/VET‐dock, SageTech Veterinary) in anaesthetised cats and dogs.
