Thermodynamics of small superconductors with fixed particle number
The Variation After Projection approach is applied for the first time to the pairing hamiltonian to describe the thermodynamics of small systems with fixed particle number.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

An approach to estimate the influence of the treatment-type controls on the basic reproduction number, R 0 , is proposed and elaborated. The presented approach allows one to estimate the effect of a given treatment strategy or to compare a number of ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Reproduction number estimation using smoothing methods Reproduction number and smoothing methods
The reproduction number for an epidemic is crucial as it helps to understand the potential spread of an infectious disease within a population. It is often estimated through case counting and contact tracing methods. Here, we propose an alternative approach based on real-time smoothing techniques. A generalized additive model (GAM) is proposed to model

Estimating finite-population reproductive numbers in heterogeneous populations
The basic reproductive number, R0, is one of the most important epidemiological quantities. R0 provides a threshold for elimination and determines when a disease can spread or when a disease will die out. Classically, R0 is calculated assuming an infinite population of identical hosts.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Using epidemic prevalence data to jointly estimate reproduction and removal
This study proposes a nonhomogeneous birth--death model which captures the dynamics of a directly transmitted infectious disease. Our model accounts for an important aspect of observed epidemic data in which only symptomatic infecteds are observed.
