Application of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis in the Engineering Design Process [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) is one of the most practical design tools implemented in the product design to analyze the possible failures and to improve the design. The use of FMEA is diversified, and different approaches are proposed by various organizations and researchers from one application to another.

FoxO1 signaling in B cell malignancies and its therapeutic targeting

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FoxO1 has context‐specific tumor suppressor or oncogenic character in myeloid and B cell malignancies. This includes tumor‐promoting properties such as stemness maintenance and DNA damage tolerance in acute leukemias, or regulation of cell proliferation and survival, or migration in mature B cell malignancies.

Creating space, aligning motivations, and building trust: a practical framework for stakeholder engagement based on experience in 12 ecosystem services case studies

open access: yesEcology and Society, 2019
Ecosystem services inherently involve people, whose values help define the benefits of nature's services. It is thus important for researchers to involve stakeholders in ecosystem services research.

Research Design

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Surgery, 2012
The development of a good research design permits us to obtain the best research data possible. From the experimental question to the research hypothesis and data collection variables, we can begin to consider the optimal research design. Details pertaining to the selection of the research design are considered within and very much in relation with the

Insights into PI3K/AKT signaling in B cell development and chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Review explores how the phosphoinositide 3‐kinase and protein kinase B pathway shapes B cell development and drives chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a common blood cancer. It examines how signaling levels affect disease progression, addresses treatment challenges, and introduces novel experimental strategies to improve therapies and patient outcomes.

Diphthamide synthesis is linked to the eEF2‐client chaperone machinery

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The diphthamide modification of eukaryotic translation elongation factor 2 (eEF2) is important for accurate protein synthesis. We addressed the potential coordination of de novo eEF2 synthesis with simultaneous or subsequent diphthamide modification. Our work reveals that the co‐chaperones Hgh1 and Cpr7, which are known to support folding of nascent ...

Design Science Research Process: A Model for Producing and Presenting Information Systems Research [PDF]

open access: yesin the Proceedings of the First International Conference on Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technology, pp. 83-16. 2006, Claremont, California, USA, 2020
The authors design and demonstrate a process for carrying out design science (DS) research in information systems and demonstrate use of the process to conduct research in two case studies. Several IS researchers have pioneered the acceptance of DS research in IS, but in the last 15 years little DS research has been done within the discipline. The lack
