Global trends of delayed graft function in kidney transplantation from 2013 to 2023: a bibliometric analysis

open access: yesRenal Failure
Delayed graft function (DGF) is an early complication after kidney transplantation. The literature on DGF has experienced substantial growth. However, there is a lack of bibliometric analysis of DGF.

Long-term climatic stability drives accumulation and maintenance of divergent freshwater fish lineages in a temperate biodiversity hotspot

open access: yes
Anthropogenic climate change is forecast to drive regional climate disruption and instability across the globe. These impacts are likely to be exacerbated within biodiversity hotspots, both due to the greater potential for species loss but also to the ...

Disorder‐Induced Extremely Low Thermal Conductivity of Graphite Fluoride

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This article investigates the effect of fluorination on the thermal conductivity of graphite fluoride, demonstrating the relationship between structural modification and thermal conductivity in an extreme case. The record‐low through‐plane thermal conductivity measured in exfoliated graphite fluoride flakes was found to correlate with the wide ...

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Evaluating Fall Monarch Butterfly Roadkill Hotspot Incidence and Potential Roadkill Mitigation [PDF]

open access: yes
TxDOT Project 0-7022Five continuous years of MaxEnt model projections for fall monarch roadkill in the Texas Central Funnel from 2016 to 2020 agree with simple extrapolations in revealing a biennial cycle of higher roadkill in the even-numbered years of ...

CLASSIFICATION MODEL FOR HOTSPOT SEQUENCES AS INDICATOR FOR PEATLAND FIRES USING DATA MINING APPROACH

open access: yes, 2017
One action which can be taken to avoid forest and land fires is to predict where forest and land fires are likely to happen. This can be done by predicting the hotspot as one of forest fires indicators. A hotspot that appears in a sequence for 2 – 5 days

SMAD4 Palmitoylation Drives a Metabolic‐Transcriptional Circuit to Promote Tumorigenesis and Confers Radiosensitivity in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies palmitoylation as a novel regulatory modification of SMAD4, mediated by ZDHHC22/APT2. It activates fatty acid synthesis, creating a self‐reinforcing SMAD4–FASN–palmitate feedback loop that drives pancreatic cancer growth and enhances radiotherapy sensitivity.

Functionally dominant hotspot mutations of mitochondrial ribosomal RNA genes in cancer

open access: yes
The vast majority of recurrent somatic mutations arising in tumors affect protein-coding genes in the nuclear genome. Here, through population-scale analysis of 14,106 whole tumor genomes, we report the discovery of highly recurrent mutations affecting ...
