Sensitive detection of viral RNA is critical for accurate diagnostics, particularly during outbreaks of emerging infectious diseases. Rolling circle amplification (RCA) is a powerful isothermal amplification strategy that can be directly primed by RNA, eliminating the need for reverse transcription.
