Flipping the Switch: MeCP2‐Mediated Lactylation Rewires Microglial Metabolism and Inflammation via the HK2/mTOR Axis in Poststroke Neuroinflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stroke‐induced lactate accumulation promotes p300‐mediated lactylation of methyl‐CpG binding protein 2 (MeCP2) at lysine 210, which reprograms microglial metabolism toward glycolysis and activates the hexokinase 2 (HK2)/mTOR axis. This cascade promotes proinflammatory responses and impairs neurofunctional outcomes.

Reap the rewards from reseeding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Permanent grass clover leys are a vital component of productive organic grassland farms. In all, there are 3 main ways to re-seed - full reseeding of permanent pastures, under-sowing with a cereal crop and thirdly over-sowing onto an existing sward.

An Incremental Reseeding Strategy for Clustering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this work we propose a simple and easily parallelizable algorithm for multiway graph partitioning. The algorithm alternates between three basic components: diffusing seed vertices over the graph, thresholding the diffused seeds, and then randomly reseeding the thresholded clusters.

DNMT2‐m5C‐ACLY Axis Promotes Lenvatinib Resistance in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Through Histone Acetylation‐Mediated Notch Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lenvatinib resistance poses a major challenge in advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This study reveals that DNMT2 upregulation is a key driver, which stabilizes ACLY mRNA via m5C modification and activates the Notch signaling pathway. Crucially, combining ACLY inhibitors with lenvatinib overcomes resistance and suppresses tumors, offering a ...

Pastoralist herd size maintenance during drought with the use of reseeded fields near Lake Baringo, Kenya

open access: yesPastoralism, 2022
Land degradation, loss of access to land resources, climate variability, socio-economic changes, and population increase are among the factors that contribute to forage shortage among the pastoral communities.

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.

Potent and Selective IGF‐IIR‐Recruiting Bifunctional Molecules for Targeted Lysosomal Degradation of Extracellular and Membrane Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lysosome‐targeting chimeras (LYTACs) enable degradation of extracellular and membrane proteins via lysosomal trafficking. We report a novel IGF‐II mutant (Del1–7, Y27L) that selectively engages IGF‐IIR while avoiding IGF‐IR and IR‐A. mutIGF‐II–based LYTACs enhance target internalization and degradation and support a genetically encodable, all‐protein ...

Self-reseeding annual legumes evaluated as cover crops for untilled vineyards

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 2008
Self-reseeding annual cover crops can regenerate in subsequent years without tilling the seedbed and can be part of a strategy to protect vineyard soil from erosion.

Viral dynamics during structured treatment interruptions of chronic human immunodeficiency virus type 1 infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Although antiviral agents which block human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) replication can result in long-term suppression of viral loads to undetectable levels in plasma, long-term therapy fails to eradicate virus, which generally rebounds after a single ...

Targeting PRKCN, an Essential Driver Orchestrating mTOR‐IRF4 Axis Independently of Kinase Activity, in Multiple Myeloma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Constitutive PRKCN expression is driven by super‐enhancers and modulated by NF‐κB signaling in multiple myeloma (MM). PRKCN activates mTORC1/2‐IRF4 signaling axis and favors tumor cell growth independently of its kinase activity. IRF4 reciprocally promotes PRKCN transcription, creating a feed‐forward loop.
