A practical toolkit for wetland management and conservation: Lessons from reclassifying urban land into a protected area

Ecological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 6, Issue 3, July–September 2025.
This study documents the rare case of Charca de Suárez in southern Spain, where urban‐designated land was successfully reclassified and restored as a protected wetland. Based on 2 years of stakeholder input, we developed a practical toolkit combining ecological restoration, infrastructure, biodiversity monitoring and community engagement.

Mapping ecological corridors in the Upper Paraguay River Basin, Brazil: Applications for sustainability, public policy and decision‐making

We identified and mapped ecological corridors on a regional scale for the entire upper paragauai basin, which is one of the largest basins in Brazil. Our results were an extensive network of corridors across the basin, as well as identifying areas for better connectivity.
