Implications of Flume Simulation for the Architectural Analysis of Shallow-Water Deltas: A Case Study from the S Oilfield, Offshore China

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The shallow-water delta-front reservoir in Member II of the Oligocene Dongying Formation (Ed2), located in an oilfield within the Bohai Bay Basin, is a large-scale composite sedimentary system dominated by subaqueous distributary channels and mouth bars.

Create Efficient and Complex Reservoir Computing Architectures with ReservoirPy

open access: yes, 2022
Reservoir Computing (RC) is a type of recurrent neural network (RNNs) where learning is restricted to the output weights. RCs are often considered as temporal Support Vector Machines (SVMs) for the way they project inputs onto dynamic non-linear high-dimensional representations.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Research on meandering river reservoir deposition architecture and 3D modeling of the Gudao Oil field in the Bohai Bay Basin

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2017
The distribution of remaining oil is controlled by internal sand body heterogeneity in the middle and late stages of oil field development. Reservoir architecture analysis has been conducted in the third sand group in the Guantao Formation of the Gudao ...

Mechanical fragmentation of leaf litter by fine root growth contributes greatly to the early decomposition of leaf litter

open access: yesGlobal Ecology and Conservation, 2021
Understory plant root proliferation into the litter layer occurs in many forest ecosystems and dramatically accelerates litter decomposition and nutrient release in the early stages. Mechanical fragmentation of leaf litter by fine roots could be one main

Hierarchical Temporal Representation in Linear Reservoir Computing

open access: yes, 2017
Recently, studies on deep Reservoir Computing (RC) highlighted the role of layering in deep recurrent neural networks (RNNs). In this paper, the use of linear recurrent units allows us to bring more evidence on the intrinsic hierarchical temporal ...
