Studies on the sperm reservoir of the pig oviduct [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
During sperm transport in the female pig a proportion of spermatozoa are arrested, often for 24 h or more, in a particular segment of the utero-tubal junction (UTJ) and the adjacent tubal isthmus, where a sperm reservoir (SR) is built up.

Immunoinflammatory Mechanisms and Biocompatibility of Bioactive Dental Biomaterials: From Fundamental Insights to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐host dialogue at the implant interface governs biological fate and osseointegration. Surface physicochemical properties of titanium (Ti) dental implants, including microgrooves, nanopatterns, nanotopography, roughness, and wettability, modulate the initial adsorption of proteins and the formation of a dynamic biointerface.

Development characteristics and potential of fault-fracture reservoir in southwest margin of Ordos Basin

open access: yes
The southwest margin of Ordos Basin has developed faults and fractures to varying scales, significantly enhancing the permeability of tight reservoirs and forming high-quality fault-fracture reservoirs against a backdrop of low permeability reservoir ...

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Microscopic characteristics of jimsar shale oil reservoir and oil displacement mechanisms of modified nanofluids

open access: yes
The efficient development of shale oil reservoirs is a current research focus and challenge. Due to characteristics—such as ultra‑tight formation, coexistence of minerals and organic matter, and the complex occurrence states of crude oil—conventional ...
