Reservoir quality prediction with CSEM

First Break, 2017
CSEM sensitivity to buried resistors is a function of the area, thickness, and resistivity of the resistive body. CSEM information in an exploration process will therefore generally imply changes to one or more of a prospect’s area, thickness, and resistivity expectation.

Reservoir Souring Prediction in Deepwater Reservoirs for Field Development Planning

SPE/IATMI Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition, 2021
Abstract A deep-water Field X with two major Reservoirs U and L discovered recently offshore Malaysia is on development for early production. The subsurface plan for the Field X includes water injection. But the presence of sulphate rich seawater can provide a favorable environment for souring activity to take place. This study evaluates

Trends in Reservoir Performance Prediction

Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1994
ABSTRACT Summary Stronger links between geoscience and petroleum engineering are being fostered by new tools and organisations. These linkages are improving the effectiveness of business decisions concerning reservoir performance, and are generating new challenges for the next generation of tools

Predicting Temperatures in Rivers and Reservoirs

Journal of the Sanitary Engineering Division, 1966
Procedures used in making forecasts of thermal conditions in proposed reservoirs and in streams to be regulated by them are presented. Reference is made to the energy-budget equation that provided the theoretical basis for the temperature forecasts. Methods of collecting and processing the required data are described including both field and office ...

Constraining Reservoir Quality Predictions

Proceedings, 2012
An inverse rock-physics modelling strategy was used to provide estimates of reservoir parameters. Reservoir predictions made irrespectively of their spatial location, can have dissimilar ranges of variability. For instance, estimations of reservoir quality independently of their depths produced wide ranges of solutions, e.g.

Prediction of sustainable management of sediment in rivers and reservoirs

Chemosphere, 2022
Water structure construction has been the subject of heated discussion for more than a decade. The following concepts include integrated management of water basins or continued sustainable development of water basins. Although there are not a lot of underdeveloped water basins, there have been 150 years of dam development.

Temperature Prediction in Stratified Reservoirs

Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1972
A differential equation is developed to describe the vertical temperature distribution in a stratified reservoir and solved numerically. Outlet temperatures are an integration of temperatures from within the withdrawal layer, the thickness of which depends upon the degree of stratification.

Reservoir properties prediction in carbonate reservoirs

2010
Prediction of fluid pressure before drilling, using geophysical methods helps the industry a lot in saving human life, drilling hazards, and equipments. There are several geophysical methods available to predict the fluid pressure before drilling but the most commonly used in the industry are those based on seismic velocities.

A model to predict reservoir sedimentation

Lakes & Reservoirs: Science, Policy and Management for Sustainable Use, 1999
AbstractAn efficient mathematical model to predict the sedimentation process in a reservoir is presented. It is based on a parabolized and laterally integrated form of the governing equations. For its numerical solution the finite element method is used. The model formulation and numerical scheme are both explained.

Pressure Prediction for Oil Reservoirs

Transactions of the AIME, 1943
Abstract This paper presents the essentials of a mathematical method of studying thepressure beha vior of an oil reservoir as the fluids are withdrawn. Methods areshown whereby the behavior of a reservoir can be used to predict the futurerelationship between withdrawals and pressure.
