Thermally Modulated Metasurface Sensor for Dynamic and Time‐Resolved Isolation of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A thermally adaptive plasmonic metasurface, functionalized with poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and anti‐CD63 antibodies, enables precise, on‐demand capture and release of extracellular vesicles (EVs). Delivering high recovery, improved purity, and intact vesicle structure, the platform offers a versatile, label‐free solution for real‐time EV ...

VALUING MARGINAL CHANGES IN THE QUALITY OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL ASSET

open access: yes
We present a model that extends the replacement cost theory to cases where benefits are restored for multiple years. Our theoretical framework derives a functional relationship between investments expenditures and environmental benefits. By extending the

Reservoir characterization and potential of the old red sandstone around the inner moray firth, NE Scotland [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Old Red Sandstone deposition in North East Scotland occurred during Devonian times within the Orcadian Basin, a northeast-southwest elongated structure. The basin formed in an extensional tectonic regime that resulted from gravitational collapse of over ...

Development of water quality management strategies for the proposed Isikli reservoir

open access: yes, 1998
A two-dimensional laterally averaged hydrodynamic and water quality model (CE-QUAL-WS) is used to simulate the water quality behavior in the proposed Isikli Reservoir of the Ankara Water Supply System to determine appropriate strategies for the ...

Reservoir Quality in the Jurassic Sandstones reservoirs located in the Central Graben

open access: yes, 2011
ABSTRACT This study investigates the diagenesis and reservoir quality of Upper Jurassic Sandstones from the Central Graben. Petrophysical and petrographical studies have been done on cored interval from well 2/1-6. Precipitation of quartz cement is the main porosity destroying process in deeply buried quartz rich sandstone reservoirs of the North Sea ...

Miniature Soft Robot With Magnetically Reprogrammable Surgical Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Miniature soft robots have great prospects to revolutionize minimally invasive treatments. Here we present a miniature soft robot, which can be reprogrammed to perform five surgical functionalities with six‐degrees‐of‐freedom motions. This soft robot can prospectively make minimally invasive surgery considerably safer and painless, and enable ...

Application of reservoir characterization and advanced technology to improve recovery and economics in a lower quality shallow shelf San Andres reservoir. Quarterly progress report, October 1--December 31, 1997

open access: yes, 1998
West Welch Unit is one of four large waterflood units in the Welch Field in the northwestern portion of Dawson County, Texas. The Welch Field produces oil under a solution gas drive mechanism from the San Andres formation at approximately 4,800 ft.

Elephant‐Skin‐Inspired Porous Cementitious Tiles with Programmable Crack Networks for Passive Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Elephant‐skin‐inspired crack networks are programmed in porous diatomaceous earth (DE)‐cement composites using substrate‐guided, stress‐concentration induced fracture. The resulting crack lattices act as capillary conduits that redistribute water, while the porous matrix stores moisture.

Reservoir Life Expectancy in Relation to Climate and Land-Use Changes: Case Study of the Mangla Reservoir in Pakistan

open access: yes, 2013
The dams and reservoirs are one of the largest sources to store surface water. The escalating water crisis in the new millennium has made it very important to preserve available water and in turn to preserve the storage capacity of dams and reservoirs ...

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...
