A porous parylene‐coated electrode loaded with dexamethasone was developed to reduce inflammation after cochlear implantation. In guinea pigs, the device provided sustained drug release, maintained biocompatibility, improved auditory brainstem response thresholds, and reduced inflammatory cell infiltration and TNF‐α expression.

Modelling of mixed-mechanism stimulation for the enhancement of geothermal reservoirs
Hydraulic stimulation is a critical process for increasing the permeability of fractured geothermal reservoirs. This technique relies on coupled hydromechanical processes induced through pressurized fluid injection into the rock formation. The injection of fluids causes poromechanical stress changes that can lead to fracture slip and shear dilation, as

Murray-Darling basin freshwater shells: riverine reservoir effect [PDF]
We report carbon isotope measurements on pre-bomb museum samples of freshwater mussel shells collected alive from riverine locations in New South Wales, Australia. The calculated reservoir ages, ranging from -60 to +112 years, are much smaller than those

Silicone breast implants are presented as a model system for understanding polymer permeation in vivo. Rather than representing material failure, “gel bleed” emerges from solution–diffusion transport‐mediated. By integrating polymer architecture, physicochemical transport, and biointerfacial processes, this review provides a unified framework that ...
