Mitigating Efficiency Roll‐Off in Phosphor‐Sensitized Fluorescence OLEDs via Molecular Polarity‐Based Benzofuropyridine Host Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Positional isomerism in dibenzofuran‐based n‐type hosts modulates molecular polarity, charge‐transport balance, and emissive‐layer packing. The higher‐polarity BFPDB‐2 host facilitates efficient energy funneling, reduced aggregation, and preferential dipole orientation, leading to phosphor‐sensitized fluorescence OLEDs with enhanced external quantum ...

Prisoner resettlement in Sweden

open access: yes, 2018
In Sweden most prisoners serve a short prison sentence. Since the majority of all prisoners are subject to mandatory pre-release after having served two-thirds of the sentence, few spend more than four months in prison.

A Proof‐of‐Concept Assessment of a Novel Wearable Eyelid Muscle Device: A Pre‐Clinical Animal Cadaver Study for Eyelid Closure Restoration

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article introduces a soft wearable eyelid sling device incorporating a hydraulic soft artificial muscle (SAM) for achieving complete closure of an eyelid. The SAM is driven by a cam mechanism that provides a displacement profile closely matched with those of a healthy eyelid.

What works for offenders and staff: Comparing two multi-agency approaches to offender resettlement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Between 2005 and 2007, the Kent and Medway Resettlement Programme (KMRP) piloted EXODUS (ex-offenders discharged under supervision), a multi-agency support system for identified prolific and priority offenders (IPPOs).

3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.

Root‐Stimulated Movements in Mimosa Pudica for Biohybrid Robotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that thermal and electrical stimulation of Mimosa pudica root induces movement of the petiole and pinnules without direct stimulation of the aerial organs, thereby enabling a plant‐based robotic gripper and providing a foundation for the development of intelligent and sustainable systems.

Interorganizational Decision-Making in Norwegian Refugee Resettlement

open access: yesNordisk Välfärdsforskning
Although the literature on resettlement – the movement of refugees from their first country of asylum to a third country that can offer permanent residency and protection – is growing, we still know relatively little about how categories and criteria for

Comparative Oligo‐FISH Mapping Illuminates Chromosomal Evolution Among Rutaceae Species Diverged Over 50 Million Years

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oligonucleotide‐based fluorescence in situ hybridization probes were developed in the model citrus species Citrus maxima. These probes were applied to comparative karyotyping across 14 species in the Rutaceae family. This analysis revealed chromosomal evolution in lineages that diverged from Citrus nearly 52 million years ago.
