Residence time distribution (RTD) revisited. [PDF]
Residence Time Distribution (RTD) theory is revisited and tracer technology discussed. The background of RTD following Danckwerts ideas is presented by introducing "distribution" functions for residence time, internal age and intensity function and how to experimentally obtain them with tracer techniques (curves C and F of Danckwerts).

Development and Use of a Residence Time Distribution (RTD) Model Control Strategy for a Continuous Manufacturing Drug Product Pharmaceutical Process [PDF]
Residence-time-distribution (RTD)-based models are key to understanding the mixing dynamics of continuous manufacturing systems. Such models can allow for material traceability throughout the process and can provide the ability for removal of non ...

Inline Determination of Residence Time Distribution in Hot-Melt-Extrusion [PDF]
In the framework of Quality-by-Design (QbD), the inline determination of process parameters or quality attributes of a product using sufficient process analytical technology (PAT) is a center piece for the establishment of continuous processes as a ...

Subject-Specific Calculation of Left Atrial Appendage Blood-Borne Particle Residence Time Distribution in Atrial Fibrillation [PDF]
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia that leads to thrombus formation, mostly in the left atrial appendage (LAA). The current standard of stratifying stroke risk, based on the CHA2DS2-VASc score, does not consider LAA morphology, and ...

Understanding the Residence Time Distribution in a Transient Inline Spiking System: Modeling, Experiments, and Simulations [PDF]
A transient inline spiking system is a promising tool for evaluating the performance of a virus filter in continuous operation. For better implementation of the system, we performed a systematic analysis to understand the residence time distribution (RTD)

The impact of turbulence models on the simulation of residence time distribution in a multichamber ozone contactor [PDF]
The flow and tracer transport in an ozone contactor is simulated by using computational fluid dynamics. The standard k- model, RNG k- model, realizable k- model and SST k- model are used to describe turbulence.

Investigations Concerning the Residence Time Distribution of Twin-Screw-Extrusion Processes as Indicator for Inherent Mixing [PDF]
Over recent years Twin-Screw-Extrusion (TSE) has been established as a platform technology for pharmaceutical manufacturing. Compared to other continuous operation, one of the major benefits of this method is the combination of several unit operations ...
