Time to Diagnosis Among Children and Adolescents With Cancer in Québec, Canada: A Population‐Based Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Timely cancer diagnosis in children and adolescents is important to improving outcomes. We aimed to quantify time to diagnosis and assess variations by patient, demographic and system‐level factors. Procedure We conducted a population‐based study of individuals aged 0–19 years diagnosed with one of 12 cancers from 2010 to 2022 in ...

Preparation and application of macromolecules with a fluorescence effect in polymer processing

open access: yesDesigned Monomers and Polymers, 2019
In this study, 9-anthracenemethyl methacrylate (AMMA) and styrene (St) as monomers and benzoyl peroxide as an initiator were used to synthesize P(St-co-AMMA), a macromolecule tracer with a fluorescence effect, via free radical copolymerization.

Impact of Japan's 2024 Physician Work‐Style Reform on Pediatric Hematology–Oncology: Educational Implications in a 2‐Year Survey

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan's 2024 physician work‐style reform introduced legally binding limits on physicians’ working hours, but its impact on education and workforce sustainability in pediatric hematology–oncology (PHO) remains unclear. Procedure We conducted a repeated cross‐sectional study with structured quantitative items and free‐text responses ...

Mathematical Modeling and Design of Parboiled Paddy-Impinging Stream Dryer Using the CFD-DEM Model

open access: yesFoods
Impinging stream dryers (ISDs) are effective for removing moisture from particulate materials because of the complex multiphase transport of air particles in ISDs.

Modeling of residence time distribution in regrinding Vertimill

open access: yesMinerals Engineering, 2013
Abstract The regrinding stage is necessary to achieve the particle size (liberation) for the final upgrade in the cleaning flotation process. At present, vertical stirred mills are increasingly employed at industrial scale. The regrinding process characterization requires mixing regime knowledge along with the mean residence time of the liquid and ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

A New Approach for Modelling Residence Time Distribution in a Co-rotating Twin Screw Extruder

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2001
A model to determine the residence time distribution (RTD) in a co-rotating twin screw extruder is proposed. The method couples a thermomechanical approach with a chemical engineering approach and allows us to obtain the RTD without a fitting ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
