An unsupervised framework for sensible heat ratio dynamic prediction using air conditioning operation data

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Sensible Heat Ratio (SHR), as a critical parameter characterizing the temperature and humidity regulation capacity of Air Conditioning (AC), holds significant value for energy efficiency, environmental comfort, and system optimization.

Increased Risk of Sarcomas in Children With Congenital Anomalies: Findings From the Genetic Overlap Between Anomalies and Cancer in Kids (GOBACK) Registry Linkage Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Procedure We

Housing retrofit: six types of local authority energy service models

open access: yesBuildings & Cities, 2021
Given the ambitious policy target to become net zero carbon by 2050, what role can local authorities play in the decarbonisation of housing? An examination is presented of six local authority energy service models relevant to housing retrofit in Britain.

Patterns of Residential Segregation

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2016
The spatial distribution of income shapes the structure and organisation of cities and its understanding has broad societal implications. Despite an abundant literature, many issues remain unclear. In particular, all definitions of segregation are implicitely tied to a single indicator, usually rely on an ambiguous definition of income classes, without

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

RESIDENTIAL PREFERENCES IN RESIDENTIAL LOCATION CHOICE

open access: yesMalaysian Journal of Sustainable Environment, 2018
Residential mobility attempts to address problems on households' life adjustments or the mismatch between residents' present needs and housing consumption. The desired preferences of each household may be complex to determine, but the trends or preferences in a residential area can be captured.
