Modeling the Chlorine Series from the Treatment Plant of Drinking Water in Constanta, Romania

open access: yesToxics, 2023
Ensuring good drinking water quality, which does not damage the population’s health, should be a priority of decision factors. Therefore, water treatment must be carried out to remove the contaminants.

Data for comparison of chlorine dioxide and chlorine disinfection power in a real dairy wastewater effluent

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
Disinfection of water refers to a special operation that is doing to kill or disable causative organisms (i.e. Pathogens) and in particular, intestinal bacteria.

Experimental appraisal and numerical modelling of chlorine demand and decay in a typical drinking water distribution network in South Africa

open access: yesEcotoxicology and Environmental Safety
Safe drinking water requires sound monitoring and maintenance of residual chlorine within drinking water distribution networks (DWDNs) to suppress possible microbial regrowth.

Analysis of the chlorine consumption for oxidation of the cyanobacteria species Microcystis aeruginosa

open access: yesVértices, 2018
This study evaluated the chlorine consumption of the Microcystis aeruginosa species present in blooms in water supply sources, since the legislation requires the minimum maintenance of free residual chlorine should be 0.2 mg.L-1 or 2 mg.L-1 of combined ...

Chlorinated Pesticide Residues in Chicken Egg

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1979
Two hundred and twenty-one representative samples of chicken eggs of native and commercial strains of Gallus domesticus were collected during January 1975 to August 1977 throughout the Tehran area and the Northern province of Mazandarane. The samples were analyzed for chlorinated pesticide residues by gas-liquid chromatography.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
