Neuromuscular blockade monitoring in pediatric patients [PDF]
Neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBAs), a cornerstone of pediatric anesthesia, facilitate intubation and muscle relaxation during surgery. However, NMBAs can also lead to serious complications including respiratory depression, residual paralysis, and ...

Management of Rigid Post-poliomyelitis Equinocavovarus Deformities: A Brief Review [PDF]
Foot and ankle deformities are frequent in patients with post-polio residual paralysis (PPRP), and can be attributed to abnormal muscle balance, abnormal posture, gravitation forces, and continued walking over the deformed foot.

Sugammadex: Breaking Through Residual Paralysis after Neostigmine’s Limits [PDF]
Persistent neuromuscular blockade following the use of Neuromuscular Blocking Agents (NMBAs) remains a significant postoperative concern, often resulting in delayed recovery and prolonged stays in the Post- Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

Prolonged residual paralysis after a single intubating dose of rocuronium [PDF]
It is often argued that neuromuscular monitoring is unnecessary when only one dose of an intermediate-acting neuromuscular blocking agent is given. This case report documents that it may take more than 3.5 h before it is possible to antagonize a block caused by a normal dose of rocuronium (0.6 mg kg(-1)).

Expression of a Mutant SEMA3A Protein with Diminished Signalling Capacity Does Not Alter ALS-Related Motor Decline, or Confer Changes in NMJ Plasticity after BotoxA-Induced Paralysis of Male Gastrocnemic Muscle. [PDF]
Terminal Schwann cells (TSCs) are specialized cells that envelop the motor nerve terminal, and play a role in the maintenance and regeneration of neuromuscular junctions (NMJs).

Role of amino acid infusion in delayed recovery from neuromuscular blockers
This case report highlights the anaesthetic management of a patient who had residual muscle paralysis following neuromuscular blockade, which was attributed to hypothermia and corrected by administration of amino acid solution.

The Use of Cisatracurium in Cardiac Surgery
The introduction of neuromuscular blockers (NMBs) has revolutionized the practice of general anaesthesia, ushering in a new era where anaesthesia is conceptualized as a triad comprising narcosis, analgesia, and muscle relaxation.
