Molecular Dynamics‐Guided Sterol Engineering of mRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticles Reprograms Biodistribution and Enhances Spleen‐Selective Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sterol engineering enables precise control of mRNA lipid nanoparticles by tuning membrane organization. Replacing cholesterol with bile acid‐derived sterols redirects protein expression from the liver to the spleen. Notably, CA‐20 LNP enhances antigen‐specific immune responses while exhibiting a favorable safety profile, highlighting sterols as a ...

Harmonizing Rigidity and Flexibility: Embedding COF Quantum Dots Into Extracellular Matrix Gel as Carbon Monoxide Depot for Acoustically Triggered Time‐Programmable Anti‐Infective Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rigid‑flexible integrated CO depot is engineered by embedding rigid COFQDs into a flexible ECM gel network. The rigid framework enables high‑capacity CO storage and sonodynamic bacterial killing, while the flexible ECM gel controls sustained CO release, collectively eradicating multidrug‑resistant infection and promoting scarless healing.

AI‐Assisted Engineering of Glycyrrhizic Acid/Simvastatin Nanocrystals for Multifunctional Treatment of Bacterial Osteomyelitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through AI‐assisted screening from FDA‐approved API to overcome the limitations of bacterial osteomyelitis treatment, glycyrrhizic acid and simvastatin are identified as a multifunctional combination capable of self‐assembling into mechanism‐targeting nanocrystals that effectively neutralize reactive oxygen species, suppress M1 macrophage polarization,

Programmable Encapsulation Enables On‐Demand Proliferation of Therapeutic Bacteria for Potent Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A programmable encapsulation technology is developed to reduce bacterial immunogenicity and proliferation after systemic administration. The cross‐linked polymer networks around individual bacteria enable immunogenic shielding and permit selective proliferation in tumors, allowing the bacteria to convert tumor‐accumulated ammonia into L‐arginine and ...

UCtracker: A Deep Learning–Based DNA Methylation Model for Noninvasive Diagnosis and Recurrence Surveillance of Urothelial Carcinoma in a Prospective Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed UCtracker, a urine DNA methylation–based deep learning model, for noninvasive diagnosis and postoperative surveillance of urothelial carcinoma. UCtracker demonstrates high diagnostic accuracy, robustness at ultralow sequencing depth, early recurrence detection, and dynamic risk‐stratified monitoring of molecular residual disease ...

Engineering‐Modulated Molybdenum Enzymes Strategy for Tumor‐Specific Metabolic‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biodegradable molybdenum sulfide nanoparticles were synthesized via a one‐pot strategy to increase molybdenum enzyme activity and thus effectively potentiate anti‐tumor immunity by integrating molybdenum‐based metalloimmunotherapy with hydrogen sulfide gas therapy.

Residual Renal Function in Hemodialysis and Inflammation

Therapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, 2017
AbstractResidual renal function (RRF) has an important effect on uremic toxin clearance, on volume control, on quality of life, and on mortality. In patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), microinflammation with an increased percentage of CD14+/CD16++ inflammatory monocytes has been reported, even with no clinical evidence of inflammation.

Impact of residual renal function in children on hemodialysis

Pediatric Nephrology, 2001
Residual renal function (RRF) contributes to dialysis adequacy as well as lower mortality and morbidity in dialysis patients. Even very small changes in glomerular filtration rate (GFR) account for considerable improvements in complications of dialysis.

An unexpected cause of residual renal function loss

Peritoneal Dialysis International: Journal of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, 2020
The residual renal function (RRF) in a peritoneal dialysis (PD) patient is clinically important because it contributes to dialytic adequacy, quality of life and mortality. We present the case of a patient in PD with a marked decrease in RRF. Even after the increase of dialysis, the patient maintained asthenia and anorexia, was prostrate and showed no ...
