Sign Detection in Residue Number Systems [PDF]

open access: greenIEEE Transactions on Computers, 1969
This paper is concerned with the sign detection problem in residue number systems. The proposed solution is applicable only to nonredundant systems. It is shown that under rather general conditions an explicit, closed formula for the sign function can be obtained. In a special case, when one of the moduli is 2, the sign function becomes an EXCLUSIVE-OR

Residue Number System Arithmetic Assisted Coded Frequency-Hopped OFDMA [PDF]

open access: goldEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2009
We propose an RNS arithmetic-based FH pattern design approach that is well suited and easy to implement for practical OFDMA systems. The proposed FH scheme guarantees orthogonality among intracell users while randomizing the intercell interferences and ...

An Efficient CRT-Base Power-of-Two Scaling in Minimally Redundant Residue Number System [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
In this paper, we consider one of the key problems in modular arithmetic. It is known that scaling in the residue number system (RNS) is a rather complicated non-modular procedure, which requires expensive and complex operations at each iteration. Hence,

Efficient Number Comparison in the Residue Number System based on Positional Characteristics

open access: diamondТруды Института системного программирования РАН, 2019
An important operation for data processing is a number comparison. In Residue Number System (RNS), it consists of two steps: the computation of the positional characteristic of the number in RNS representation and comparison of its positional ...

Generating Residue Number System Bases [PDF]

open access: green2021 IEEE 28th Symposium on Computer Arithmetic (ARITH), 2021
Residue number systems provide efficient techniques for speeding up calculations and/or protecting against side channel attacks when used in the context of cryptographic engineering. One of the interests of such systems is their scalability, as the existence of large bases for some specialized systems is often an open question.

Performance Analysis of Hardware Implementations of Reverse Conversion from the Residue Number System [PDF]

open access: goldApplied Sciences, 2022
The Residue Number System (RNS) is a non-positional number system that allows parallel computations without transfers between digits. However, some operations in RNS require knowledge of the positional characteristic of a number.

Technique to Adjust Adaptive Digital Filter Coefficients in Residue Number System Based Filters [PDF]

open access: goldIEEE Access, 2021
The paper discusses adaptive filtering using Least Mean Square (LMS) and Recursive Least Square (RLS) algorithms. An algorithm for adjusting the coefficients of an adaptive digital filter in the Residue Number System and a procedure of developed ...

Overflow Detection in Residue Number System, Moduli Set {2n-1,2n,2n+1} [PDF]

open access: greenJournal of Advances in Computer Engineering and Technology, 2016
Residue Number System (RNS) is a non-weighted number system for integer number arithmetic, which is based on the residues of a number to a certain set of numbers called module set.

Multiple Constant Multiplication through Residue Number System

open access: green2009 Conference Record of the Forty-Third Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2009
Several algorithms have been developed over the years to reduce the number of additions needed for Multiple Constant Multiplication (MCM) and optimize the area. In this work, we present an approach to MCM which is based on the properties of the Residue Number System (RNS).
