Numerical residues

Image and Vision Computing, 2005
Binary morphological transformations based on the residues (ultimate erosion, skeleton by openings, etc.) and their associated functions which are based on the analysis of the residue evolution in every point of the image are extended to functions.

Residual requirements and architectural residues

Proceedings Fifth IEEE International Symposium on Requirements Engineering, 2002
Monitoring running systems is a useful technique available to requirements engineers, to ensure that systems meet their requirements and in some cases to ensure that they obey the assumptions under which they were created. This report studies relationships between the original requirements and the monitoring infrastructure.

DISTRIBUTION OF AMINO ACID RESIDUES AND RESIDUE-RESIDUE CONTACTS IN MOLECULAR CHAPERONES

Preparative Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2001
The amino acid distribution and residue-residue contacts in molecular chaperones are different when compared to normal globular proteins. The study of molecular chaperones reveals a different surrounding environment to exist for the residues Cys, Trp, and His which may play an important role in determining the chaperone structures.

When is a residue not a residue?

Veterinary Record, 1988
Residues of veterinary products in food animals have been the subject of much debate in recent years. This paper attempts to define and classify what is meant by the term 'residue' and to discuss the toxicological significance of various types of residues and how they may be controlled to ensure that no hazard results to consumers.

The distribution of quadratic residues and non‐residues

Mathematika, 1957
The author proves the following: Theorem 1. Let \(\delta\) and \(\varepsilon\) be any fixed positive numbers. Then, for all sufficiently large \(p\) and any \(N\), we have \[ \left\vert \sum_{n=N+1}^{N+H} \left(\frac{n}{p}\right)\right\vert < \varepsilon H \] provided \(H > p^{1/4+\delta}\). \(\left(\frac{n}{p}\right)\) is the Legendre symbol and \(p\)

A Note on the Distribution of Residues and Non-Residues

Journal of the London Mathematical Society, 1963
A slight improvement is made over a previous result [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 12, 179--192 (1962; Zbl 0106.04003), theorem 2] of the author in the theorem. If \(\chi\) is a non-principal character to the prime modulus \(p\) and \(\chi(n) = \omega\) for \(H\) consecutive values of \(n\), then \(H\ll p^{\frac14} \log p\).

On Deletion Residuals

Calcutta Statistical Association Bulletin, 2002
Residuals based on case deletion has been drawn a great deal of attention in recent years. The prime objective of these residuals is the identification of outliers in linear regression. In this paper we investigate their performances as substitutes of the true randQm disturbances and compare them with the traditionally used least squares residuals ...

Residue Theorem and Logarithmic Residue Theorem.

Science and Technology of Engineering, Chemistry and Environmental Protection
This passage is written for researching the application of residue theorem and Logarithmic Residue theorem. The residue theorem is a powerful tool for the analysis of complex functions. It also can be used to calculate the integral of the real functions.

Residual lymphocele

Urology, 1985
Uncomplicated lymphoceles can cause lateral extrinsic compression of the sigmoid colon. Ultrasound is the study of choice to define these cystic collections, which may persist many months as a postoperative complication of pelvic lymph node dissection.
