Multimode Adaptive Thermoregulation Enabled by Shape Morphing and Radiative Cooling Porous Polyurethane

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A shape‐morphing, porous polyurethane film combines passive radiative cooling with folding to deliver multilevel heating‐and‐cooling control. High solar reflectance and midinfrared emissivity keep surfaces up to 3.5 °C cooler in direct sunlight, while photothermal triggering folds the film to absorb solar heat.

Communicating Resilience: A Discursive Leadership Perspective [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this essay we challenge whether current conceptions of optimism, hope, and resilience are complete enough to account for the complexity and nuance of developing and maintaining these in practice.

The resilience of interdependent transportation networks under targeted attack

open access: yes, 2013
Modern world builds on the resilience of interdependent infrastructures characterized as complex networks. Recently, a framework for analysis of interdependent networks has been developed to explain the mechanism of resilience in interdependent networks.

Encapsulating Laser‐Induced Graphene to Preserve its Electrical Properties and Enhance its Mechanical Robustness

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that laser‐induced graphene (LIG) can be encapsulated while preserving its electrical conductivity and enhancing its mechanical properties. Unlike previous encapsulation attempts, the optimal conditions described here result in sheet resistance of ≈2 Ω sq−1, resistance increase of only 5% upon encapsulation, and vastly improved ...

The Power of Resilience

open access: yesJournal of the American College of Cardiology, 2014
![Figure][1] Disappointment can be crippling, but only if the individual allows himself or herself to be emotionally conquered by the defeat. This can be particularly devastating in the young. As an alternate path, I recommend finding refuge in the power of resilience.

Poly(1,4‐anthraquinone) as an Organic Electrode Material: Interplay of the Electronic and Structural Properties due to the Unusual Lone‐Pair‐π Conjugation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
In this study, the unique role of the unusual lone‐pair‐π conjugation mechanism in poly(1,4‐anthraquinone) (P14AQ) is explored as an organic electrode material. Unlike traditional π‐π interactions, P14AQ's conjugation involves lone pairs of oxygen atoms interacting with the π cloud of adjacent units, enabling stable charge transport even with minimal π‐
