Systemic Management Education as an Adaptive Venture: 60‐Year Evolution of the St. Gallen Management Model

open access: yesSystems Research and Behavioral Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Which methodological position is best for orientating higher education? This question is crucial for the design of pedagogical programmes. The issue is not always raised; hence, many offers in higher education are unsatisfactory: ill‐defined, concept‐less, inefficient.

Recomposing Management Education Under Climate Crisis: Towards a Composting Heuristic for Epistemic Change

open access: yesBritish Journal of Management, EarlyView.
Abstract Management learning and education (MLE) is increasingly critiqued for its reliance on anthropocentric and profit‐maximization paradigms, which fail to adequately address the escalating ecological and climate crises. In this article, we call for an epistemic shift in MLE by introducing the metaphor of composting as a lens for collective ...

Challenges in Creating a Disaster Resilient Built Environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
With the increase in occurrences of high impact disasters, the concept of risk reduction and resilience is widely recognised. Recent disasters have highlighted the exposure of urban cities to natural disasters and emphasised the need of making cities ...

Challenges of integrating sustainability in management education: A 25‐year review of institutional logics, paradoxes and sensemaking

open access: yesInternational Journal of Management Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Although sustainability has been championed in management education for over 25 years, its integration remains uneven, fragile and contested. Existing literature mirrors this fragmentation—often descriptive, celebratory or narrowly focused, offering limited insight into the organisational processes that shape integration.

Ecological energetics of an imperilled fish: Physiological metrics, experimental protocols and implications for population recovery

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Insights about fish physiology can be useful for population management, but collecting ecologically relevant data can be challenging, especially for imperilled and sensitive species. With the goal of identifying ecologically relevant physiological metrics, we conducted a range of experiments to characterize the metabolism, food consumption ...

Nutritional composition of pollen stores in managed bees across European agro‐ecosystems reveals species‐specific differences but limited pesticide effects

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 5, Page 853-865, October 2026.
In the pollen stores of three bee species deployed across 128 European sites, bumble bees harboured lower lipid content and higher protein‐to‐lipid ratios than honey bees and mason bees. Toxicity‐weighted pesticide risk did not alter protein‐to‐lipid ratios, but higher risk was associated with reduced protein and lipid content in the pollen stores of ...

Introduced dung beetles suppress methane emissions from cattle dung and alter the temporal dynamics of greenhouse gas flux Los escarabajos peloteros introducidos suprimen las emisiones de metano del estiércol de ganado y alteran la dinámica temporal del flujo de gases de efecto invernadero Besouros coprófagos introduzidos suprimem as emissões de metano do esterco bovino e alteram a dinâmica temporal do fluxo de gases de efeito estufa

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 5, Page 1025-1035, October 2026.
Dung beetles suppressed cumulative methane flux from cattle dung by 85% and reduced total greenhouse gas emissions by 18%. Beetle activity accelerated initial CO2 release but did not alter total cumulative flux. N2O and NH3 fluxes were transient and not consistently driven by beetle presence.
