Indirect Resin Onlay Cemented with Self-adhesive Resin Cement: A Comprehensive Clinical Overview

open access: yesWorld Journal of Dentistry, 2012
ABSTRACTAdvances in adhesive technology and esthetic dental materials have permitted clinicians to perform conservative preparation of the dentition for onlay restorations. Indirect resin onlays are a great alternative to dental crowns for reestablishment the function and esthetic in teeth with great destruction.Key messagesIndirect resin onlay is ...

Hardening of a dual-cure resin cement using QTH and LED curing units

open access: yesJournal of Applied Oral Science, 2010
OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated the surface hardness of a resin cement (RelyX ARC) photoactivated through indirect composite resin (Cristobal) disks of different thicknesses using either a light-emitting diode (LED) or quartz tungsten halogen (QTH) light

Sealing Ability of Alkaline Endodontic Cements versus Resin Cements [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2017
Penetration of oral bacteria through root fillings leads to their long term failure. Dimensionally stable alkaline cements have been developed. A saliva challenge model was used to compare resistance to bacterial penetration of these alkaline cements to conventional root fillings that combine gutta percha (GP) with epoxy resin sealers.

Effect of airborne particle abrasion on microtensile bond strength of total-etch adhesives to human dentin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Aim of this study was to investigate a specific airborne particle abrasion pretreatment on dentin and its effects on microtensile bond strengths of four commercial total-etch adhesives. Midcoronal occlusal dentin of extracted human molars was used. Teeth

Influence of Sample Preparation and Processing Procedures on the Thermal Diffusivity of MgO‐C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

Interaction of MgO Recyclate‐Based Cermet Anode With KF‐AlF3‐Al2O3 at 800°C During Laboratory Scale Aluminum Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A carbon‐free, as‐sintered MgO–steel cermet anode, fabricated via cold isostatic pressing using MgO–C refractory recyclate, was evaluated under laboratory‐scale K‐cryolite electrolysis at 800°C. Operation at this reduced temperature, combined with the electrolyte's limited electrical conductivity, led to an increase in cell voltage.

To compare and evaluate the sorption and solubility of four luting cements after immersion in artificial saliva of different pH values

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences, 2017
Introduction: The word 'luting' is derived from a latin word 'Lutum' which means 'mud'. 'Luting' is a word that is often used to describe the use of a mouldable substance to seal a space or to cement two components together.
