Fracture load of cantilevered implant‐supported prostheses of varying heights fabricated from additively and subtractively manufactured resins

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the fracture load, both before and after aging, of implant‐supported cantilevered prostheses with different prosthesis heights fabricated additively using an experimental resin and a commercially available resin, or subtractively from a high‐impact polymer composite.

Effectiveness of plasma‐enhanced chemical vapor film in surface treatments of resin‐matrix ceramics to preserve optical characteristics after different aging processes

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The aim of this study was to evaluate the surface roughness and optical characteristics of three ceramics with resin matrix for computer‐aided design and computer‐aided manufacturing, after different surface treatment protocols associated or not with the application of film deposition by plasma‐enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD)

Feldspar Albitization With Implications for Reservoir Quality Evolution of Eocene Turbidite Sandstones in Offshore Espírito Santo Basin, Eastern Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Geology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The diagenetic albitization of plagioclase and K‐feldspar grains is a transformative process that significantly alters sandstone's detrital composition and formation water chemistry, impacting reservoir quality. In this study, Eocene turbidite sandstones from the offshore Espírito Santo Basin, Brazil, were investigated to elucidate the role of

Holdfast adhesion in the kelp Alaria marginata: Cell wall polysaccharides and phenolics

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, EarlyView.
Abstract Adhesion is a critical process in the survival of seaweeds, especially in wave‐swept environments. Kelp (Laminariales) sporophytes secrete adhesives from specialized rhizoid cells to anchor themselves to the substrate and withstand immense forces applied by waves.

The oral microbiota and periodontal health in orthodontic patients

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract The oral microbiota develops within the first 2 years of childhood and becomes distinct from the parents by 4 years‐of‐age. The oral microbiota plays an important role in the overall health/symbiosis of the individual. Deviations from the state of symbiosis leads to dysbiosis and an increased risk of pathogenicity.
