Harnessing the PpHog1 Regulatory Network to Engineer a UPR‐Adaptive Komagataella phaffii Chassis for High‐Copy Secretory Protein Production

Increasing gene copy number is a common strategy to boost heterologous expression, but an excessively high copy number of genes encoding secretory proteins can cause ER stress, leading to growth defects and ERAD activation. To solve this, we screened for key UPR signalling components in K. phaffii and used them to engineer a UPR‐Ad+ strain.

Electrochemical Oxidation of Abietic and Dehydroabietic Acids for Sustainable Access to C‐7 and C‐15 Oxygenated Abietanes

Batch and flow electrochemical methods enable direct C‐7 oxidation of abietic and dehydroabietic acids from colophony or their methyl derivatives to the corresponding ketones, while a mediated protocol enables additional C‐15 oxygenation, providing sustainable and selective routes to diversified abietane derivatives.
