Does the implementation status of gender provisions affect the implementation of a peace agreement? Evidence from Colombia's 2016 peace agreement implementation process

open access: yesPolicy Studies Journal, Volume 53, Issue 4, Page 1152-1163, November 2025.
Abstract In 2016, the Colombian government and the leftist insurgency group FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia – Ejército del Pueblo) signed an agreement that ensures women's greater participation in the peace implementation process, their access to benefits from the programs, and their ability to reform initiatives in the agreement ...

The crucial role of meshing in computational fluid dynamics simulations for organic geometries in paleobiology: Describing fluid dynamics performance through best practices

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 10, Page 2170-2194, October 2025.
Abstract Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has become an essential tool for studying fluid interactions in biological systems. While widely used in engineering, its application in the natural sciences, particularly in paleobiology, remains limited due to the challenges of meshing complex organic geometries.

Taxon‐specific BLAST percent identity thresholds for identification of unknown sequences using metabarcoding

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 10, Page 2380-2394, October 2025.
Abstract The identification of organisms in environmental samples using metabarcoding relies on factors such as taxonomic assignment methods, genetic markers, reference databases and confidence thresholds for taxonomic assignment. Because lineages evolve at different rates, a global threshold (e.g.

Exploring Challenges and Opportunities in International Healthcare Partnerships: A Thematic Analysis

open access: yesWorld Medical &Health Policy, Volume 17, Issue 3, Page 456-467, September 2025.
ABSTRACT In global health collaborations, countries of all development levels may seek international assistance, emphasizing trust and conflict resolution. However, existing frameworks lack sustainability metrics, governance, and evaluation criteria.

Monitoring population extinction risk with community science data

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 62, Issue 9, Page 2133-2147, September 2025.
Our modelling framework provides a robust, computationally efficient and easy‐to‐apply tool for monitoring local persistence probability that can support global conservation efforts. This will complement the monitoring of species population viability in places where standardized monitoring is still lacking, but community science observations are common.

Resting behaviour as a target for innovative mosquito control strategies

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 9, Page 1890-1905, September 2025.
Abstract This work reviews and discusses how a deeper knowledge of mosquito time‐allocation, particularly resting periods, can enhance the effectiveness and deployment of classical vector control tools. As more high‐resolution data are gathered by novel tracking devices, follow‐up questions investigating mosquito behaviour are likely to arise ...

Immersion patterns alone can predict vessel following by albatrosses

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 62, Issue 8, Page 1831-1843, August 2025.
We demonstrate that seabird immersion patterns alone can detect high‐risk seabird‐vessel interactions, even in the absence of locational data for both seabirds and vessels. Our approach could allow for more comprehensive seabird bycatch risk assessments that quantify previously hidden seabird‐vessel interactions, such as those involving migratory life ...
