Resonant holography

Summaries of Papers Presented at the Lasers and Electro-Optics. CLEO '02. Technical Diges, 2002
We present a method of enhancing the diffraction efficiency of a hologram by placing it inside a resonant optical cavity. The diffraction efficiency improves on account of the multiple passes that the incident light undergoes inside the optical cavity.

Anti-Resonance — Velocity Resonance

Mekhatronika, Avtomatizatsiya, Upravlenie, 2019
The task of the study is to establish the nature of mechanical resonance, namely, it is a resonance of forces or speeds. Two definitions are introduced. Definition 1. Resonance of forces is a resonance arising at a frequency ω = (k/m)0,5 in a mechanical system including an inert body and an elastic element, at which the reactive forces developed by ...

RESONANT APOPHENIA

2023
This chapter describes the affects and poetics of uncanny conspiracy theory, especially UFO abduction. Drawing on ethnographic research, the chapter explores the interplay of ordinary life and consiuracy theory in the 1990s US Southwest through the trope of abduction.

Resonant quasi-resonant solitons

Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences: Physics, 2012
Propagation of an optical pulse in a set of transitions created by simple Zeeman splitting is investigated. It is shown that resonant and nonresonant circularly polarized components repel one another, while a coupled soliton state can be formed only between quasi-resonant components whose planes of polarization rotate in opposite directions.

Resonance splitting in gyrotropic ring resonators

Optics Letters, 2010
We present the theoretical concept of an optical isolator based on resonance splitting in a silicon ring resonator covered with a magneto-optical polymer cladding. For this task, a perturbation method is derived for the modes in the cylindrical coordinate system. A polymer magneto-optical cladding causing a 0.01 amplitude of the off-diagonal element of

Stochastic resonance in paramagnetic resonance systems

Journal of Statistical Physics, 1993
Experimental evidence of the stochastic resonance phenomenon in an electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) system is reported. The amplitude and phase response of the EPR system operating in bistable conditions are measured for increasing values of the noise intensity.

Anharmonic Resonance

American Journal of Physics, 1953
The oscillations of a pair of classical oscillators which are synchronized because of anharmonic resonance can be calculated by the method of variation of constants. Two types of motion are studied: librational and nonlibrational—referring to oscillatory and progressive behavior, respectively, of the phase difference of the two oscillators.

Multiplicative stochastic resonance

Physical Review E, 1994
A multiplicative bistable stochastic system perturbed by a periodic forcing term is shown to exhibit stochastic resonance with increasing intensity of the multiplicative noise. Such an effect is related to the phenomenon of stochastic stabilization, which takes place in the unperturbed system.

Resonance—Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

2019
In this chapter, we will consider the principles of nuclear magnetic resonance to see how it can be exploited to generate signals from within the body related to the presence and properties of water within tissues. We will explore how radiofrequency waves can be used to exploit resonance phenomenon of protons placed within a magnetic field and the ...
