Comparison of motor neutral point overvoltage oscillations in SiC-based adjustable speed drives using two-level and three-level inverters [PDF]
In SiC-based adjustable speed drives, power cables have similar behaviour to transmission lines due to the steep voltage pulses (high dv/dt) which experience back and forth voltage reflections while travelling across the cables, known as the reflected ...

Hydrogen From Simulated Seawater Using Long-Term Stable and Cost-Effective Plasmonic Photocatalysts. [PDF]
Can plasmonic photocatalysts withstand a saline environment? Yes! A conductive polyaniline shell stabilizes gold–silver nanoparticles while largely preserving charge transfer to TiO2, achieving 348 ± 108 μmol H2 g−1 h−1. Moreover, the catalyst survived 1 month of storage in simulated seawater, with almost full retention of its initial activity.

Optimization-Based Mitigation Techniques of the Temporary Overvoltage in Large Offshore Wind Farm
Overvoltage transient is the major danger facing large offshore wind farms, as it may lead to a complete failure of the system components. A 150 MW offshore wind farm was modeled using the ATP-EMTP package to analyze the effect of the temporary ...

Resonance Overvoltages in Medium Voltage Multilevel Drive System [PDF]
Simulations and field tests indicate that unacceptable motor-terminal overvoltages and waveform shapes can occur in the normal operating range with high-output-voltage multilevel drive systems. These waveforms (if unattended) can result in premature motor insulation failures. A case study of an 11-kV multilevel system is presented.

Stochastic resonance in electrical circuits—I: Conventional stochastic resonance. [PDF]
Stochastic resonance (SR), a phenomenon in which a periodic signal in a nonlinear system can be amplified by added noise, is introduced and discussed. Techniques for investigating SR using electronic circuits are described in practical terms.

Analysis of Transformer Resonant Overvoltages Due to Switching Capacitance [PDF]
Power transformer transients, which are originated from non-linear operating characteristics, may cause failure of a power system. In this study, a special resonance phenomenon where overvoltages observed due to switching capacitances of the line is investigated.
