J‐filter: An experiment to simplify and isolate specific signals in 1H NMR spectra of complex mixtures based on scalar coupling constants

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Chemistry, Volume 61, Issue 11, Page 615-622, November 2023., 2023
Signal assignment can be severely compromised in congested 1H NMR. The article describes NMR selective experiments for the simplification of crowded 1H spectra by edition/filtering of target resonances according to their exact multiplicity and scalar couplings.

Neurofunctional correlates of a neurorehabilitation system based on eye movements in chronic stroke impairment levels: A pilot study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 13, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
This work investigated the effect of our new and innovative game‐based virtual reality training using the control of virtual objects with gaze in three chronic stroke survivors. Abstract Introduction Rehabilitation after a stroke is widely considered fundamental to improve secondary functional impairments.

Guidelines for correlation coefficient threshold settings in metabolite correlation networks exemplified on a potato association panel

open access: yesBMC Bioinformatics, 2021
Background Correlation network analysis has become an integral tool to study metabolite datasets. Networks are constructed by omitting correlations between metabolites based on two thresholds—namely the r and the associated p-values.

Volumetric measurement of the hippocampus in a series of patients with Alzheimer disease

open access: yesNeurology Perspectives, 2021
Background: Hippocampal volume is recognised as a surrogate imaging biomarker for the study of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, in Cuba there are no antecedents of its use.

Steady State Free Precession NMR without Fourier Transform: Redefining the Capabilities of 19F NMR as a Discovery Tool

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 15, April 7, 2025.
Steady state free precession (SSFP) – Complete Reduction to Amplitude Frequency Tables (CRAFT) not only improves sensitivity, resolution and number of signals detected by NMR but can also dramatically reduce experiment times. This powerful approach unlocks the potential of NMR as a discovery tool, enabling unprecedented detection of fluorinated ...

Liver-specific gadoxetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance for focal lesion evaluation

open access: yesRevista de Gastroenterología de México (English Edition), 2015
Gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance for the evaluation of hepatic lesions is increasingly being used in clinical practice, especially in patients with suspicious focal lesions, whether benign or malignant.
