The Resonant Structure of the Kuiper Belt and the Dynamics of the First Five Trans-Neptunian Objects

Icarus, 1995
Abstract By means of simple analytic models and numerical integrations, we explore the resonant structure of the Kuiper belt. We find that the inner order-one mean motion resonances with Neptune are very stable and give phase-protection from close encounters with Neptune.

Visible and Infrared Photometry of Fourteen Kuiper Belt Objects

open access: yesIcarus, 2000
We present V-J colors of 14 Kuiper Belt objects using new infrared (J) data combined, in most cases, with simultaneous visible (V) data. We confirm the V-J vs absolute magnitude relation reported by Jewitt and Luu (1998) for the five objects in their ...

The bimodal colors of Centaurs and small Kuiper belt objects [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy and Astrophysics, 2012
Ever since the very first photometric studies of Centaurs and Kuiper belt objects (KBOs) their visible color distribution has been controversial. This controversy has triggered to a prolific debate onthe origin of the surface colors of these distant icy ...
