Hidden chemical order in disordered Ba7Nb4MoO20 revealed by resonant X-ray diffraction and solid-state NMR [PDF]
The chemical order and disorder of solids have a decisive influence on the material properties. There are numerous materials exhibiting chemical order/disorder of atoms with similar X-ray atomic scattering factors and similar neutron scattering lengths ...

Time and momentum resolved resonant magnetic x-ray diffraction on EuTe [PDF]
We used fs- and ps- resonant magnetic x-ray diffraction to probe the laser-induced changes to the magnetic profile in thin films of the antiferromagnetic semicon-ductor EuTe.

Soft X-Ray Resonant Magnetic Diffraction [PDF]
We have conducted the first soft x-ray diffraction experiments from a bulk single crystal, studying the bilayer manganite La2-2xSr1+2xMn2O7 with x=0.475 in which we were able to access the (002) Bragg reflection using soft x rays. The Bragg reflection displays a strong resonant enhancement at the L(III) and L(II) manganese absorption edges.

Simulation of Surface Resonant X-ray Diffraction [PDF]
We present an ab initio numerical tool to simulate surface resonant X-ray diffraction experiments. The crystal truncation rods and the spectra around a given X-ray absorption edge are calculated at any position of the reciprocal space. Density functional theory is used to determine the resonant scattering factor of an atom within its local environment ...

Forbidden Reflections in TeO2 in the Vicinity of the Te L1 Absorption Edge
Examining forbidden reflections provides valuable information on electronic states and the local environment of resonant atoms in crystals. Experimental studies of two forbidden reflections 002 and 100 in TeO2 single crystals were performed at photon ...

Resonant X-ray emission spectroscopy using self-seeded hard X-ray pulses at PAL-XFEL
Self-seeded hard X-ray pulses at PAL-XFEL were used to commission a resonant X-ray emission spectroscopy experiment with a von Hamos spectrometer. The self-seeded beam, generated through forward Bragg diffraction of the [202] peak in a 100 µm-thick ...

X-ray resonant powder diffraction [PDF]
X-ray resonant diffraction can be applied in structural chemistry studies on powder samples. It enables an important limitation of powder diffraction to be overcome. This limitation is related to the low ability of powder diffraction to differentiate elements with close atomic numbers when they occupy the same or close crystallographic sites (mixed ...

Resonant elastic soft X-ray magnetic scattering (XRMS) is a powerful tool to explore long-periodic spin textures in single crystals. However, due to the limited momentum transfer range imposed by long wavelengths of photons in the soft x-ray region ...

Resonant soft X-ray diffraction –in extremis [PDF]
The use of softer-energy X-rays produced by synchrotron radiation for diffraction is an area of current interest. In this paper, experiments exploiting resonant scattering at the L absorption edges of 3d transition metal elements are reported. Such energies, typically 500-1000 eV, are at the extreme limit of soft X-ray diffraction where absorption ...

Al Thin Films Electrodeposited on Copper in an Aqueous Solution
Electrodeposits formed from an aqueous solution by rectangular pulse voltages over a megahertz frequency range were investigated through scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX) microanalysis and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The SEM-EDX
