Microring resonator channel dropping filters

, 1997
Microring resonators side coupled to signal waveguides provide compact, narrow band, and large free spectral range optical channel dropping filters. Higher order filters with improved passband characteristics and larger out-of-band signal rejection are ...

Not-so-resonant, resonant absorption

Physical Review Letters, 1987
When an intense electromagnetic wave is incident obliquely on a sharply bounded overdense plasma, strong energy absorption can be accounted for by the electrons that are dragged into the vacuum and sent back into the plasma with velocities v\ensuremath{\simeq}${v}_{\mathrm{osc}}$.

Transverse Modes in I.H.P. SAW Resonator and Their Suppression Method

IUS, 2018
We discuss transverse modes in a resonator on a multilayer substrate with a thin piezoelectric plate. A generation mechanism of the transverse mode response in I.H.P. SAW (Incredible High-Performance SAW)resonator with a LiTa03 plate is analyzed by using

Resonant holography

Summaries of Papers Presented at the Lasers and Electro-Optics. CLEO '02. Technical Diges, 2002
We present a method of enhancing the diffraction efficiency of a hologram by placing it inside a resonant optical cavity. The diffraction efficiency improves on account of the multiple passes that the incident light undergoes inside the optical cavity.

Dispersive and dissipative coupling in a micromechanical resonator embedded with a nanomechanical resonator.

Nano letters (Print), 2015
A micromechanical resonator embedded with a nanomechanical resonator is developed whose dynamics can be captured by the coupled-Van der Pol-Duffing equations. Activating the nanomechanical resonator can dispersively shift the micromechanical resonance by

Resonance—Nuclear Magnetic Resonance [PDF]

open access: possible, 2019
In this chapter, we will consider the principles of nuclear magnetic resonance to see how it can be exploited to generate signals from within the body related to the presence and properties of water within tissues. We will explore how radiofrequency waves can be used to exploit resonance phenomenon of protons placed within a magnetic field and the ...

Removal of Resonances

1992
From the perturbative procedure in the last chapter we have learned that in the proximity of resonances of the unperturbed system, resonant denominators appear in the expression for the adiabatic invariants. We now wish to begin to locally remove such resonances by trying, with the help of a canonical transformation, to go to a coordinate system which ...

Resonant frequencies of helical resonators

15th International Conference on Microwaves, Radar and Wireless Communications (IEEE Cat. No.04EX824), 2004
The paper investigates the resonant frequencies of helical resonators. Full-wave 3D electromagnetic analysis is used to verify closed-form formulas known from literature. Corrections to formulas for dominant mode and new formulas for higher modes are proposed. Two-helical resonators filter was designed and measured.

Resonances of a "Pillbox" Dielectric Resonator

1978 8th European Microwave Conference, 1978
Resonant frequency, quality factor and field plots are discussed for a circular-cylindrical dielectric resonator. These quantities are calculated in the limit ?r ??. The method is a perturbation technique based on an expansion in the (small) parameter (1/??r).

Dielectric Resonator Antennas

, 2005
Linearly and circularly polarized conformal strip-fed dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) are studied in this article. In the latter case, a parasitic patch is used to excite a nearly degenerate mode.
