Synthesizing microwave resonator filters

IEEE Microwave Magazine, 2009
In this article, analytic and optimization-based methods for the synthesis of dual-passband microwave filters are presented. First, the frequency transformations for synthesizing dual-passband filters is described. For the filters in which the reflection and transmission zeros cannot be found analytically using frequency transformations, an ...

Resonant filter clipper circuit

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1985
A circuit for peak limiting an audio signal comprises a first "M" derived filter, a first clipping circuit, a second-order low pass filter, a second clipping circuit and a second "M" derived filter. Each "M" derived filter includes a series resonant shunt leg for eliminating clipping harmonics within selected frequency ranges depending upon the ...

Resonant Add/Drop Filters

2002
The wide use of optical Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) calls for compact, efficient filters for multiplexing and demultiplexing the channels in a data stream or for adding and dropping an individual channel leaving all the rest unperturbed.

Resonant filtered fiber amplifiers

2013 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Pacific Rim (CLEOPR), 2013
In this paper we present our recent result on utilizing resonant/bandgap fiber designs to achieve high performance ytterbium doped fiber amplifiers for achieving diffraction limited beam quality in large mode area fibers, robust bending performance and gain shaping for long wavelength operation of Yb-doped amplifiers.

Direct-Coupled-Resonator Filters

Proceedings of the IRE, 1957
A new analysis is given of direct-coupled-resonator filters that results in excellent response at much greater bandwidths than has previously been possible. The method relies on the fact that the coupling elements can be made into perfect impedance inverters, or "quarter-wave" transformers, by the addition of negative elements in lumped-constant ...

Resonant Harmonic Filters

Abstract Resonant harmonic filters are installed at terminals of high-power current harmonics-generating loads usually three-phase rectifiers and converters. Such filters were for decades effective devices for reducing harmonic distortion in distribution systems.

Mobius filters and resonators

2000 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest (Cat. No.00CH37017), 2002
Resonator and filter topologies are introduced which rely on the geometric deformation of a guiding structure resulting in the establishment of resonant conditions in more compact structures. Conceptually, the structures are analogous to Mobius strips.

Folded-waveguide resonator filters

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005., 2005
This paper presents a primary investigation into developing a compact and low loss band pass filter using novel folded-waveguide resonators. An aperture coupling between adjacent resonators is introduced, which is characterized using full-wave EM simulations and verified experimentally.

Waveguide resonators and filters

IEE Seminar Microwave Filters and Multiplexers, 2000
The purpose of this paper is to investigate a novel class of waveguide resonator structures using periodic metal septa for use at microwave, mm-wave, submm-wave and terahertz frequencies. Its aim is to show that this type of resonator can be easily realized with a single metal insert within circular, ridged and rectangular waveguide.
