Alkylresorcinols in rye (Secale cereale L.) grains. VI. Colorimetric micromethod for the determination of alkylresorcinols with the use of diazonium salt, Fast Blue B

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
A simple and precise method for alkylresorcinols determination was elaborated. The method a based on coupling of alkylresorcinals with diazotized Fast Blue B, in acidified propaaiol. The method is highly specific for 5-n-alkyl derivatives of resorcinols.

DNA binding and oxidative DNA damage induced by climacostol\u2013copper(II) complexes: Implications for anticancer properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Climacostol is a natural toxin isolated from the freshwater ciliated protozoan Climacostomum virens and belongs to the group of resorcinolic lipids. Climacostol exerts a potent antimicrobial activity against a panel of bacterial and fungal pathogens.

Biocatalytic Regioselective C‐Formylation of Resorcinol Derivatives

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An acyltransferase from Chromobacterium sphagni (CsATase) was identified that catalyzes the regioselective formylation of resorcinol substrates. The formylation of substituted resorcinol derivatives yielded mono‐formylated products with up to 99% conversion and up to 74% isolated yield.

Kinetics of the appearance of cereal alkylresorcinols in pig plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Alkylresorcinols (AR) are phenolic lipids found in high amounts in wholegrain wheat and rye. They may be important as bioactive components and/or biomarkers of wholegrain wheat and rye intake.
