Toward an overall analytical framework for the integrated sustainability assessment of the production and supply of raw materials and primary energy carriers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The sustainable production and supply of raw materials (nonenergy raw materials) and primary energy carriers (energy raw materials) is a core element of many policies. The natural resource base for their production and supply, and the access thereto, are

Wind Resource Assessment on Puná Island [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Puná Island, located in the Pacific Ocean off the southern coast of Ecuador, has a population of approximately 3344 inhabitants. However, not all inhabitants have access to electricity, which is largely supplied by diesel generators. Therefore, to identify a renewable, sustainable, environmentally friendly and low-cost alternative, a 40-m-high ...

Molecular Characterization of an Endo-β-1,4-Glucanase, CelAJ93, from the Recently Isolated Marine Bacterium, Cellulophaga sp. J9-3

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
A novel cellulase was characterized from a newly isolated marine bacterium, strain J9-3. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene revealed that strain J9-3 belonged to the genus Cellulophaga, and thus, it was named Cellulophaga sp. J9-3.

Management of Assessment Resources in a Federated Repository of Educational Resources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This article tries to shed some light over the management of assessment resources in a repository of educational resources from an outcome-based perspective. The approximation to this problem is based on the ICOPER Reference Model, as a model to capture e-learning data, services and processes, addressing an interoperability approach.
