Realising the Alternative Resources Constraint
2005Alternative resource constraint problems have to be solved in practical applications where several resources are available for the activities to be scheduled. In this paper, we present a modular approach to solve such problems which is based on single resource constraints.

Resources for Conflict: Constraint or Wealth? [PDF]
We investigate the effects of the availability of resources that can be expended in conflict on conflict intensity. We run a between-subjects Tullock contest in which we vary the contest budget from Low to Medium to High, while keeping the Nash equilibrium bid the same.

2023
Throughout the last century, significant advancements have been made in the control of quantum systems. Although the concept of control is frequently used in literature, its definition as a resource remains vague and poorly understood. This thesis is a collection of scientific contributions made during the my PhD studies, focused on investigating the ...

Resource Constraints or Abundance?
2018This chapter deals with the environmental issues case by case rather than in terms of the three scarcities. It looks at the empirical circumstances for the food supply, the threat of erosion, the question of resources, such as energy, raw materials, and water, and finally the distribution of wealth.

Resource Constraints and Economic Policy
This paper explains the MMT approach for evaluating the affordability of spending programs, contrasting it with the mainstream approach. Using the examples of the Green New Deal, Medicare-for-All, and Build Back Better, it argues that rethinking spending and taxes as claims on, and releases of resources, respectively, leads to different conclusions ...openaire +2 more sources
Breaking the Resource Constraint
2001AbstractThe world has so far avoided dismal predictions by Malthus and Ricardo on the inexorable consequences of population growth with the application of science to the development of technology geared towards maximizing the intensity of land use for agricultural production.

Relaxation of Resource Constraints
2001When we have a model formulation for a particular problem, it may happen that some of the constraints make the problem thorny, and without them the problem could be handled well. This is exactly the case in our situation, because the central problem of maximizing the net present value of a project without resource constraints can be solved in ...
