Prediction of Failure in Lithium‐Rich Cathode Half‐Cells Using Early‐Cycle Data

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
Using a dataset constructed from the performance evolution of Li‐rich cathode materials, a GBDT‐based model was developed for early half‐cell failure prediction. By using only data from the first 50 cycles, the model enables rapid identification of failure tendencies and provides an efficient tool for performance screening and evaluation.

DataEX‐Sc: A Specialized Parsing Model for Materials Science Scatter Plots Based on Multi‐Strategy Fusion and Bidirectional Optimization

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
We present DataEX_Sc, a specialized model for parsing scatter plots, to make valuable contributions to data‐driven materials science. It improves accuracy by 0.23 (absolute F1 gain when relative error threshold = 0.02) over full‐automatic tools and boosts efficiency by 80% compared with semi‐automated tools.

Breaking Extrapolation Barriers: Dual Innovations for Property and Component Design of Multi‐Component Alloy

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, EarlyView.
This study breaks extrapolation barriers in alloy design by merging symbolic regression with latent space sampling. The dual‐strategy framework enables accurate prediction of high‐hardness properties and navigates uncharted compositional spaces. The approach successfully designs novel high‐entropy alloys with hardness exceeding 863.5 HV, demonstrating ...

Evaluation of the Role of Institutional Quality and Human Capital on the Resource Curse Hypothesis [PDF]

open access: yesPizhūhishnāmah-i Iqtiṣād-i Inirzhī-i Īrān, 2011
Resent emprical studies indicate that natural resource abundance have an important role on economic growth in natural-resource-rich countries. Also according to literature on economic growth that human capital, education, technologcal progress and ...

Enabling Functional Independence: A Scoping Review of Upper Extremity Assistive Devices for Adults With Progressive Neuromuscular Diseases

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, EarlyView.
This scoping review summarizes the spectrum of upper extremity assistive devices for adults with progressive neuromuscular diseases, ranging from low‐tech supports to advanced robotics, exoskeletons, and brain‐computer interface systems. While these technologies show promise for improving enabling function, current evidence is largely limited to ...

Identity Management: The Creation of Resource Allocative Criteria in Botswana

open access: yesAfrican Studies Quarterly, 2017
Botswana’s escape from the “resource curse” is an anomaly in the trend toward low economic growth and political instability in resource-rich developing economies.

Mineral resource dependence and green transformation: the impact and challenges of green finance in Chinese cities

open access: yesHumanities & Social Sciences Communications
Overcoming the resource curse while balancing environmental protection and economic growth presents significant challenges. We developed an evaluation system to measure the green economic efficiency (GEE) of 262 cities and introduced the concept of the ...

Asynchronous population trends stabilize mesopredatory coral reef fish communities in the face of global change

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Biodiversity can underpin stability in communities, allowing them to withstand environmental fluctuations without changes in aggregate properties like total abundance or biomass. We investigated the influence of biodiversity on two crucial population‐level mechanisms governing abundance stability in mesopredatory coral reef fishes: 1) ‘community ...

Different demographic drivers of recovery in two adjacent populations of a long‐lived bird of prey

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Understanding the demographic mechanisms underlying population decline or recovery is critical for conservation and management, yet similar population trends may arise from very different underlying processes. Comparing populations of vulnerable species groups like long‐lived raptors in different environments can reveal how species respond to change ...
