SRP: a scalable resource reservation protocol for the internet [PDF]
Current resource reservation architectures for multimedia networks do not scale well for a large number of flows. We propose a new architecture that automatically aggregates flows on each link in the network. Therefore, the network has no knowledge of individual flows.

An Improved Resource Reservation Protocol [PDF]
The classical resource reservation protocol (RSVP) is a flow-based signaling protocol used for reserving resources in the network for a given session. RSVP maintains state information for each reservation at every router along the path. Even though this protocol is very popular, he has some weaknesses.

Dynamic RSVP in Modern Networks for Advanced Resource Control with P4 Data Plane [PDF]
This study focuses on leveraging the emerging Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technology, P4, to design a data plane for the Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) that can be applied in various scenarios, including both wired and wireless networks. This

Analysing Properties of the Resource Reservation Protocol [PDF]
The goal of the Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP) is to establish Quality of Service information within routers and host computers of the Internet. This paper describes a model of RSVP and presents the analysis approach and results. A large part of RSVP is modelled using Coloured Petri Nets.

2CA-R2: A Hybrid MAC Protocol for Machine-Type Communications [PDF]
Machine-to-machine (M2M) communications are becoming the most important factor shaping network traffic. However, traditional controls developed for human-generated traffic are not able to cope with new demands.

RSVP: a new resource ReSerVation Protocol [PDF]
A resource reservation protocol (RSVP), a flexible and scalable receiver-oriented simplex protocol, is described. RSVP provides receiver-initiated reservations to accommodate heterogeneity among receivers as well as dynamic membership changes; separates the filters from the reservation, thus allowing channel changing behavior; supports a dynamic and ...

Estimation of the Achievable Performance of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks with Optimal Link State Routing
The paper explores the challenges of constructing self-organizing wireless mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) utilizing Optimal Link State Routing (OLSR) with MPR (MultiPoint Relay) optimization and quality control through the RSVP (Resource Reservation ...

A hybrid access method for broadcasting of safety messages in IEEE 802.11p VANETs
Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) can improve the road safety by transmitting safety-critical messages such as beacons and emergency messages. IEEE 802.11p VANETs have adopted the carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA ...
