Clinical Relevance of Drug–Drug Interactions With Antibiotics as Listed in a National Medication Formulary: Results From Two Large Population‐Based Case‐Control Studies in Patients Aged 65–100 Years Using Linked English Primary Care and Hospital Data

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 113, Issue 2, Page 423-434, February 2023., 2023
This study evaluated drug–drug interactions (DDIs) between antibiotic and nonantibiotic drugs listed with warnings of severe outcomes in the British National Formulary based on adverse drug reaction (ADR) detectable with routine International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision coding.

Diamond Chemistry: Advances and Perspectives

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Diamond as a material has many unique properties. More recently, diamond has emerged as a material with a wide range of applications in chemistry and biology. The high intrinsic stability of diamond, coupled with the ability to modify diamond surfaces with a wide range of species via highly stable covalent linkages, provides a wealth of opportunity to ...

Data Structure for a Time-Based Bandwidth Reservations Problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
We discuss a problem of handling resource reservations. The resource can be reserved for some time, it can be freed or it can be queried what is the largest amount of reserved resource during a time interval. We show that the problem has a lower bound of $\Omega(\log n)$ per operation on average and we give a matching upper bound algorithm.

Photochemical Conversion of Indazoles into Benzimidazoles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Fragment‐based drug discovery relies on preparing diverse libraries of advanced building blocks, often incorporating heteroaromatic motifs. Altering the core of heteroaromatics to maximise library diversity typically requires de novo synthesis of each system. This can be often challenging when specific substitution patterns are needed.

Continuous Flow Synthesis of Nitrofuran Pharmaceuticals using Acetyl Nitrate

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Nitrofurfural is a key building block for the synthesis of antimicrobial nitrofurans as active pharmaceutical ingredients. Its synthesis involves the nitration of furfural, a substrate derived from biobased resources. However, furfural has a delicate heteroaromatic backbone.

Static Data Structure for Discrete Advance Bandwidth Reservations on the Internet [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
In this paper we present a discrete data structure for reservations of limited resources. A reservation is defined as a tuple consisting of the time interval of when the resource should be reserved, $I_R$, and the amount of the resource that is reserved, $B_R$, formally $R=\{I_R,B_R\}$. The data structure is similar to a segment tree.
